SBA & HCDC Host Roundtable to Further Economic Recovery Efforts for Hamilton’s Small Businesses

WHAT: The U.S. Small Business Administration, HCDC and the Hamilton County Commissioner’s Office will conduct a small business roundtable to discuss the challenges that the local small business community has experienced in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As business owners continue to recover and rebuild, they have been able to access tools provided by the CARES Act stimulus package, which funded quick capital infusion efforts including the Paycheck Protection Program nationally as well as Hamilton County’s Small Business Relief Program locally. By hosting the roundtable, the SBA and HCDC hope to generate awareness of these tools and resources and gather feedback from small businesses regarding these programs.

WHEN:  Monday, August 31, 2020

WHERE: SBA & HCDC Roundtable
1776 Mentor Ave, Suite 160, Cincinnati, OH 45212

WHY: As the voice for our nation’s entrepreneurs, the SBA remains dedicated to our mission of ensuring that small businesses will recover and continue to start, grow and expand as we safely reopen our economy. With that mission in mind, the SBA has approved almost 3.5 million loans totaling $183 billion in capital nationally through the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program, which is still open to small businesses, nonprofits and agricultural businesses. The SBA also partnered with lending institutions to approve more than 5.2 million loans totaling $525 billion through the Paycheck Protection Program. In addition, Hamilton County is utilizing more than $5 million of its CARES Act allotment for a second round of small business assistance. Together, we are working to ensure that our small businesses, the powerhouses of local economies and communities, overcome current challenges.
