Morning Mentoring - Tech Startup Help & Growth

The Morning Mentoring program is designed to provide support and guidance to entrepreneurs and young companies, helping them grow and succeed. The program matches participating startups with experienced entrepreneurs, business professionals, VCs, angel investors, and subject matter experts who can provide valuable insights and advice on a range of topics, including finance, operations, marketing, and more. Rather than a “Shark Tank” atmosphere, the program provides a “Dolphin Tank” where the main objective is feedback, connections, and mentorship.

Why Get Involved?

Morning Mentoring℠ is an excellent opportunity to present, network, and receive expert feedback from successful business mentors

This long-running and proven program has helped hundreds of new companies grow and expand. Morning Mentoring is a collaborative effort between Alloy Growth Lab and Queen City Angels. You can either get involved as a mentor or a mentee – we are looking for both.

How does it work?

Morning Mentoring℠ uses a virtual format and schedules closed sessions for presenting companies and mentors

The Morning Mentoring program is held weekly on Thursdays from 9 am to 10:15 am EST. Participants have 10 minutes to pitch their business followed by 45 minutes of Q&A. During this time, participants can ask the mentors’ questions during the Q&A and for an additional 10 minutes at the end of the session. At 10 am we ask the participants to leave the call and the mentors discuss their pitch for a further 15 minutes. Mentors fill out a scorecard and feedback which is compiled and sent back to the participants the following week. Please keep in mind due to the high number of applications, the program is usually booked out 1-2 months in advance. Leading up to the participants session, the Alloy Growth Lab Startup Catalyst works with the participant on their pitch deck and 10 minute pitch.

Who can participate?

Morning Mentoring℠ encourages startups and young companies with a technology focus

Potential mentees must own their business, have a strong desire to grow, and be able to discuss challenges that their business faces. One mentee company is selected weekly by Alloy Growth Lab and Queen City Angels to present at no charge.

When do sessions take place?

Morning Mentoring℠ sessions are scheduled for Thursdays at 9:00 am –10:00 and are currently in a virtual format
