Alloy Celebrates Collaboration and Growth 

CINCINNATI, OHIO (February 17, 2023) — Alloy Development held its Annual Economic Development Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, February 15th, at the Sharonville Convention Center. We celebrated the tremendous accomplishments of our Commercial Capital, Economic Development, and Growth Lab teams and the stakeholders and customers that they support. The room was filled with banking partners, entrepreneurs, service providers, government leaders, and many from all facets of the startup ecosystem collaborating together to make our region stronger. The energy was contagious and guests left with three areas to focus on: innovation, collaboration, and inclusion. 

This year, seven individuals and organizations were celebrated by Alloy for their success and contributions to our community.

Wayne Wirth of Poppy Bank was recognized as the Lending Advocate of the Year. He obtained approval for 3 SBA 504 Loans for a total of $17M in total investment. All deals were with Minority Business Enterprises (MBE’s). The 504 Lender of the Year recipient was LCNB National Bank. They obtained approval on 3 SBA 504 loans for a total of $18.3M in total investment that retained and created 139 jobs for our region. These efforts will have a long-term positive impact on our community’s economic development.

MadTree Brewing was celebrated as the David K. Main Business Lending Project of the Year. Alloy began working with MadTree in 2015 when they decided to purchase and renovate the Oakley manufacturing & taproom facility.  Partnering with JP Morgan Chase and Jobs Ohio, Alloy helped finance the $18M project.  Then in 2022, MadTree Brewing returned to Alloy to refinance that project, partnering with LCNB National Bank.

The recipient of the Growth Lab Client of the Year was Resolution Air. Resolution Air manufactures a component valve with applications in the bio-chemical, food and beverage, and healthcare markets in both the United States and abroad.  Through hard work, dedication, and extreme coachability Brad Thompson, founder of Resolution Air is absolutely killing it – and you can see the growth and confidence that has propelled him to success.

The recipient of the Ronald Schallick Economic Development Award this year was Pepper Construction. They are a regional construction management company with offices in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Their new Southwest Ohio headquarters is located in the historic Stearns & Foster building in Lockland. Pepper will employ more than 60 workers at this location and has invested $12 million into their new facility.

The Todd Portune Innovation Champion Award went to Micropyretics Heaters International (MHI). They are a high-growth, innovative company that uses electrical energy to produce high-power, high-temperature steam, and process gasses for various purposes. MHI is a long-time client of Alloy having gone through our incubation program, utilized our lending program through our Commercial Capital department, and utilized our strategic growth resources through the Office of Innovation.

The last award, the Larry Albice Entrepreneurship Award, went to Brian Tibbs of Monti, Inc. Brian epitomizes giving back to the entrepreneurial community. is financial prowess and strategic mindset are invaluable assets when mentoring startups. He is a regular attendee of the Alloy Morning Mentoring program and his guidance during those sessions is indispensable.
