Established in honor of the late Larry Albice who served on the Board of Trustees from 1993 until 1998, and Board Chair from 1995-1997. In 1996, he played a key role in the expansion of the incubator program. Mr. Albice was named the first recipient of this award in his honor in April 1998.
Recipients of the award are individuals recognized for the drive and spirit to build an entrepreneurial enterprise, and the generosity in sharing success with others through community involvement. Those who succeed at entrepreneurship and yet give back generously to the community are to be commended. Larry Albice was such a person.
To win this award, one must be an entrepreneur, having created or developed an enterprise, and be involved in community organizations or projects as an active participant.

For over 10 years Ron Schallick served as a trusted volunteer advisor and leader on the Board of Directors and as Vice Chair and Chair. He played a pivotal economic development role in helping transform the Aventis facility in Reading, Ohio into a multi-user manufacturing and R&D campus, thereby preserving over 600 good-paying jobs in our community. His insight and analysis also proved critical in the strategic direction for our activities and programs.
Mr. Schallick passed away on July 4, 2009, after battling a variety of health issues. In recognition of his contributions in promoting economic development in Hamilton County, our Annual Economic Development Award was named in his honor.
